JB Model 2cm FlaK 38 L/65 AA Guns, Armoured vehicles [RB35B36]
Each set comes in a small zip-lock style bag attached to a small card stiffener. Included in the bag is one barrel, one flash suppressor, and one small fret of photo etch (PE).
I used four of these barrels for an old Tamiya 20mm Flak Vierling and will use four more for Dragon's new "Wirbelwind."
The turned aluminum barrels are very nicely milled...with no milling marks on my samples. The length of the barrels, from the tip of the flash suppressor to the first "collar" at the base, should measure out to approximately 28.5 mm (my thanks to PMMS for the measurements). These measure to just over 28 mm. It easy enough to not slide the suppressor all the way down, but not necessary. Assembly is as simple as cutting off the kit's barrel, drilling a hole into the receiver to accept the pin of the barrel, and utilizing a thin CA glue to bond the barrel to the plastic of the kit.
The biggest plus for me is that the flash suppressors are not PE, they are turned brass with exceptional detail. No annealing or rolling of PE needed for these! I did note that the hole where the suppressor attaches to the "pin" of the barrel end needs to be drilled out a little for a smoother fit.
The small PE fret offers a little more detail for the barrel.
These barrels are a great value; in cost, quality, and the time saving benefit of having turned suppressors. Highly Recommended!
