SMS V161 German Torpedoboot 1908/1918
In cooperation with Resin Studio Neptun, Choroszy, Master and JBModel we are presenting our 1st resin set in scale 1:700.
German Navy according to their naval war doctrine was ordering torpedo boats, called also deep sea torpedo boats, where they were exactly designated to operate. Whole batches of orders were sent to biggest shipyards - Schichau, Germania and Vilcan (later also others got involved). However in parallel 3 different single models were build, those were similar units but turbine propelled, they came from series - S125, G137 and our V161.
Series upon which V161 was based, was at the same time the base for first in the world destroyers being built in Stettin at that time, with artillery placed along the axis of the hull - V150-155, and slightly on the outside of axis - V156-160.
Construction of V161 was taken from last mentioned above and was differing outside only in few details due to the fact of using completely new engine room thus lighthouses and ventilators had to placed differently. New AEG turbines worked perfectly and were long lasting also giving the ship extra 3 knots comparing to her predecessors.....
